The facts regardless of what you may read is that Republicans are fighting for the best, most efficient use of our limited resources. We can spend it on expanding a pre K program that has (by the governors own study) been shown to produce not just no effect but actually negative effects in most of the groups it worked with or we could spend it rebuilding the infrastructure of our overloaded, crumbling schools in these financially tough times. The Tennessean left the school infrastructure issue out of the story even though it is, in a time of sluggish tax revenue growth, a big part of the discussion over how to spend the state's lottery surplus.
