« Dial Victory | Main | Lamar's Popularity is Bipartisan » January 17, 2008Request for PrayersMy daughter and I are traveling to Philadelphia tomorrow to visit my mom who, after a five-year battle with breast cancer that for a few years she appeared to be winning, is now indeed closing in on victory. Not a medical victory over the cancer, which long ago metastasized to her brain and elsewhere, but the victory of passing on to the life that is beyond death. I am requesting your prayers for our safe travel, and for God's blessings on my father, sisters and mother during this time. And if you haven't called your mom lately to tell her you love her, do it now. Posted in Miscellaneous

Very inspiring Bill. Reminds me of the song "Victory in Jesus" which was played at my dad's funeral. God bless you and your family. Posted by: Glen Dean at January 17, 2008 10:29 AMI'm so sorry to hear of this, as I have been through it before. Very sorry to hear this. I will remember you both in my prayers. Posted by: John Norris Brown at January 17, 2008 10:44 AMNot much for praying, Bill, but I will keep you and your daughter in my thoughts today. I lost my Mom a few years back, and you were right to remind people to slow it down, and call home whenever possible. Be well. Posted by: Mack at January 17, 2008 11:04 AMPeace to all, Bill. My prayers are with you and your family. My mom passed a few years ago as well. I know how tough this time can be. Posted by: Southern Beale at January 17, 2008 6:27 PMI am a prayer Bill and mine are with you and your family thru this difficult time. May Amazing Grace being played on bagpipes reach your ears and your hearts. She is going home. Posted by: IM Russell at January 17, 2008 7:14 PMIndeed Bill, God bless you all at this time. Great running into you recently! Posted by: Webutante at January 17, 2008 8:57 PMYou and all of your family are definitely in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in there and thanks for reminding us all that there are more important things than politics. Posted by: FreddieMac at January 17, 2008 10:48 PMIt is our mothers who first teach us the moral imperative for the strong to protect the weak. Many think that they can prepare themselves to endure the lost of this first teacher through strength of will or philosophy but are then surprised how pain slips by our every shield. May God send you comfort in this time of trouble. Posted by: Danny L. Newton at January 18, 2008 3:05 AMYou and yours are in my prayers. Bill, you & your family are in our prayers. I still have my mom but lost my dad several years ago. I'm happy for her & you all that she has the bright hope for tomorrow we sing about...
