« Freeloaders Update | Main | Did Rob Briley Get Off Easy? » December 17, 2007The Bredesen Boom
In a letter hand-delivered to the Oak Hill City Attorney on Nov. 27, in which Deputy Attorney General Kevin Steiling asserted that because the project was on state-owned property it was not subject to approval by the Oak Hill Planning Commission, the Bredesen administration promised to "voluntarily agree to delay the commencement of any actual construction of the facility for at least thirty (30) days after the Commission's receipt of this letter." Dec. 27 is just 10 days away. The legislature goes back into session in early January, at which point it could take steps to delay the project. If I had to predict, I'd bet you'll be hearing loud booms from the direction of Oak Hill before New Year's Day.

They also want to do the blasting this month because strict laws go into effect Jan. 1 regarding how blasting is done. So, what are the Bredesen's going to say on Dec. 20th when the mansion neighbors and the City of Oak Hill officially says "no" to the bunker? The Bredesen's have claimed that the neighbors have been "rude" and that the neighbors are politcally "rubbing dirt". Well, the City of Oak Hill is just trying to uphold the building codes they have enforced for 55 years. There is nothing "rude" or "rubbing dirt" about that. Will the Bredesen's do the fair and decent thing and drop the bunker? Posted by: Myrtle at December 17, 2007 4:50 PMPost a comment
