A Simple Deduction

Here's a link to WKRN reporter Chris Bundgaard's story that sprang from this TN GOP press release and related press conference today regarding the very real possibility that the Democrat-controlled Congress will let the law expire that made state sales tax deductible from one's federal income tax - an action that will cost more than half a million Tennessee families $400 or even $550 in higher taxes next year. Bundgaard reports that sales tax deductibility has "bi-partisan support" in the Tennessee Congressional delegation.

Sure, Tennessee's Democrat congressmen have said they support keeping the deductibility. But their "support" rings hollow as they simply haven't done much to preserve it. From their lack of action or effectiveness on the issue, you can deduce that they either don't really support it, or are ineffective.

Full disclosure: I work for the TN GOP.

I think the whole stink over you being communications director for the TNGOP and having your own personal blog is ridiculous.

It's not like your views and those of the TNGOP aren't (almost)exactly the same.

Unfortunately, there's a lot of people who don't really have a life and have nothing better to do than make up fake names and try to bully and/or embarrass you and others.

When you look at it, those people attacking you aren't people with blogs or people using their real names.

Wow. Easy to be a bad a** when they can't look you in the eyes. That pretty much makes them cowards.

They're just jealous of you.

Speaking as a liberal, I'd love for the Democratic Party to pay me while I have my own blog as well. (Actually, they'd be better off with Braisted because he's younger and has more energy) The point being, most liberal bloggers would jump at the chance for a paying gig with the Democratic Party, so the ones going after you are a little less than genuine.

Like I said, they're too cowardly to even put their real names.

Not worth your time, Bill.

Save your energy for the real fights coming up with real people on real issues.

Thank you, Sharon.

I agree with what Sharon said whole heartedly from the other end of the political spectrum. Look at the transparency you can have blogging.

Stunning opportunity for you, Bill. All I can say is it must be a slow news week for some of your foes.

If tax hikes sunset like tax deductions and tax cuts you would see the Congress critters all over it.

How can anyone plan their economic future the way Congress mucks with the tax law?
