« Sandy Burgler's New Job | Main | 10th District Senate Race: Berke Is Part of the Problems He Says He Wants to Help Solve » October 9, 2007Brock Offers Entrepreneurial and Financial Background For State Senate Seat
The general election is set for Nov. 15. The 10th state Senate District leans Democratic, but this race is winnable for the Republican Brock. He needs help, though - you can contribute to his campaign here. Brock won more than 85 percent of the vote in the crowded GOP primary. He's right on the issues, has a record of private-sector achievement and public involvement, and is a breath of fresh air after the corrupt Democrat Crutchfield. Brocke has been a financial consultant and a real estate entrepreneur, and holds an MBA from Vanderbilt University's Owen School of Management. His Democratic opponent, Andy Berke, is a trial lawyer. (Raise your hand if you think the legislature could use a fewer lawyers and a more small businessmen and entrepreneurs.) While Berke has been made his living suing people, Brock has made his living by starting businesses and creating jobs. Here is Brock's bio... Oscar Brock graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Economics. After graduation, he returned to Chattanooga where he worked for two years at Merrill Lynch as a financial consultant, before starting his own business with his brother in 1988. By 1992, Oscar had sold his interest in the company to his brother and joined the staff at the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, where he served as the Public Policy Manager.Don't forget to donate to Brocke's campaign. Did you see this bit of information about Mr. Brock and his DUI? Posted by: Steve at October 9, 2007 3:01 PMIf Democrats want to make an issue of a 20-year-old dismissed DUI charge, I have two words for them: Rob Briley. Brock does not have a DUI conviction on his record. The charge was dismissed. It was 20 years ago. And, besides, it's not like he was driving drunk, fleeing the scene of an accident and leading police on a high-speed chase while serving as the Democratic chairman of the House Judiciary Commission, overseeing a pending overhaul of the state's drunk-driving laws, while having an affair with the chief lobbyist for the state's trial lawyers or anything like that...
