A Fourth to Remember... But a 9/11 to Forget?

Hey, Tennessee Democratic Party. Today's September 11. Not July 4. September 11. Perhaps you've heard of it. It's an important day. One that Americans - especially those who purport to offer political leadership - should always remember. Change your website. Before people start to think you just don't care.

Update: We get results.

Based on his update, Gray Sasser is saying that you are the same as an Islamic terrorist whose hate is tearing the nation apart. Overreach?

But he'd never play politics on this sacred day.

The message post on the Democratic Party website is "timeless" sir. It speaks of patriotism that transcends political "party" affiliation which is why you probably miss the entire message, and chose to take a simple minded "cheap shot" instead on even this day. A day of "shared" tears, and sorrow as we remember the horror of 09/11/2001.

I, as an American citizen, have a huge problem with that.
Yes, I am a Democrat, but I would feel just as nauseated if your comment had been made by a member of the Democratic Party. To me, 911 is not a "flavor of the day" political topic to be used to "score points." In my opinion, we are on the "same" team, and on 09/11/2001, team "AMERICA" suffered a hit from a beneath the slime enemy that did not check party affiliation before slamming those planes into the twin towers.

Now go back to the website, and read it again. I think that upon doing so, you will agree that what is being discussed is "especially" relevant on this day, 09/11/07. It talks about us, as American people, coming together, regardless of "party" affiliation, and paying homage to those brave Americans who made the freedom that we enjoy today possible. There is a larger message for those of us who love this country more than "any" political party operating within it. 911 was just the beginning, We don't have to read a web-page to remember.

Maybe I am being overly sensitive, but I am just think that you were wrong to insinuate that the Democratic Party does not care about 911. As a member of The Democratic Party, I know better, and could let your cheap-shot go unchecked. If I have misunderstood your comment, I am sincerely sorry. Let us come together, and agree that we not tug on superman cape, not spit into the wind, on 911, not play politics.

I wasn't implying that the TN Dems don't care - I was saying that if they didn't finally get around to replacing their July 4th message, especially on September 11, some folks might start to think that they didn't care.

Actually, I've just been teasing the TN Dems about their website home page since Labor Day, when I found it funny that they seemed not to know which holiday it was.

I stand corrected, and I am delighted to know that you would not stoop that low.

Sincerely,
