No Tax Increase Pledge Update

tnflag.jpgOne week ago I emailed all 46 members of the Tennessee state House of Representatives and all 16 Republicans in the state Senate and invited them to respond to a pledge to not vote for any tax increases this year, especially in light of the state's $1.3 billion revenue surplus. So far, I have received responses from just four five legislators - state Rep. Matthew Hill, state Rep. Susan Lynn, state Rep. Mike Bell, state Sen. Mae Beavers and state Sen. Jack Johnson.

Additionally, state Rep. Glen Casada responded with details on his and House Minority Leader Jason Mumpower's proposed no tax/no pork budget.

I'm pretty sure there are other Republicans in the legislature will not vote for a tax increase, but so far they haven't stood up to say so.

Responses from all legislators making the pledge will be added to the list at the end of this post.

"Additionally, state Rep. Glen Casada responded with details on his and House Minority Leader Jason Mumpower's proposed no tax/no pork budget"

Then why did they both have plenty of requests in Rep. Craig Fitzhugh's stash of pork requests?
