« "No More Noble Missions" | Main | The Red Truck » March 18, 2007The Gore MineHere's the story on that zinc mine underneat Al Gore's Carthage, Tennessee, farm, that The Tennessean teased yesterday. The paper recounts the Gore family's relationship with Occidental Petroleum, and the mine's environmental history. The story is fairly Gore-friendly, but Glenn Reynolds is right when he says, " will add to the perception that Gore's green talk is hypocritical." In a related post, Reynolds notes charges of "green hypocrisy" in the investment community. Posted in Environmentalism

Bill, Since you read the Tennessean article, you saw the paragraph buried in the story that said that Al Gore owned the property after the zinc mine deal was made and that he had no control over his operation. You repeat Reynolds' statement that the article will probably add to the accusation of green hypocrisy. Why not take the intellectually honest step that Reynolds did not, and say whether Gore deserves such a charge? Posted by: lurleen at March 18, 2007 2:55 PMPost a comment
