Tennessean Seeks Auto Biz Writer

mediaflagsmall.jpgFrom JournalismJobs.com:

The Tennessean, the Gannett-owned daily newspaper in Nashville, Tenn., is seeking an experienced business reporter to cover the automotive industry and its impact on the economy. The Nashville area is home to Nissan North America's HQ and a General Motors plant that is switching to new products after making Saturn vehicles since the 1980s. ... This job would strongly focus on the auto industry, although some other coverage of manufacturing and economic development issues could be required. Candidates should be capable of producing local breaking news, enterprise and weekend packages for print and online. Other duties include working with our multimedia desk to develop compelling Web content. Contact: Dave Green, Administrative Editor, The Tennessean, 1100 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203, dgreen@tennessean.com
I toured both the Nissan and Saturn plants, and about a dozen auto parts suppliers back when I covered the manufacturing sector and economic development for Nashville Business Journal back in the '90s. Fascinating. Even got to drive one of the first Altimas off the line. Whoever gets the above-listed job is in for a treat.
