Houston joins more than 250 cities and towns across America that are ror soon will offer wireless Internet to residents and businesses, says USA Today. EarthLink will spend $50 million to set up the infrastructure including 10,000 transmitters that will be placed on light and utility poles throughout the city. The mayors and governments of Nashville and its surrounding suburbs ought to move quickly to form a regional effort to do the same here. Could be a good thing, though it does seem to set up a relationship similar to the ILEC/CLEC dynamic for business landline telecoom.
