« Newsflash: Naifeh Opens Up | Main | Running Fred? » January 20, 2007Naifeh Ends Ethics Seminar Fast
Lawmakers were given binders outlining the new regulations, though as the presentation drew on, several members appeared to lose interest, with some chatting on their cell phones and others scanning their laptops. When [Tennessee Ethics Commission executive director Bruce] Androphy ended his formal presentation to open the floor for questions, House Speaker Jimmy Naifeh quickly granted House Majority Leader Gary Odom's motion to adjourn.I'm shocked. Naifeh stayed at an ethics seminar for a whole hour? Update: A commenter asked where one might find a copy of the binder of ethics regs given to the legislators. I'm going to try to get a copy and post it on the blog as a PDF file. It is not yet on the website of the Tennessee Ethics Commission, although the site does offer A Manual for Lobbyists and Employers of Lobbyists, which is a 34-page PDF file. The site also offers other interesting information, so check it out. Posted in Tennessee Government News
