Camp Update

WKRN's religion and ethics reporter Jamey Tucker has done an excellent follow-up on the controversy in recent days over remarks by Lipscomb University theology and ethics professor Dr. Lee Camp regarding fostering good relations between Christians and Muslims. Tucker reveals that the interfaith gathering at Lipscomb at which Dr. Camp made the remarks lasted for six hours. In the piece, Dr. Camp says he was not misquoted by The Tennessean, but he was misunderstood and his remarks taken out of context. As I said yesterday, a 747-word newspaper story simply can not capture the complete truth of what was said and discussed during a multi-hour event.

As Dr. Camp said, "Brief news stories can seldom do justice to substantive conversations."
