This will end up being one of the great "so what" moments. Ever since Rather and Jordan, the MSM has wised up and simply ignored conservative bloggers. They finally figured out that they need only treat bloggers the way they treat talk radio -- ignore them no matter what. All the triumphant celebrations of the coming relevance of blogs in the post-Rathergate world proved premature. If you want to hold the MSM responsible for the lies and propaganda, you have to slay the beast in its lair. [Note, that ain't on the internet.] Eventually, those who want the public to get the truth are going to have to directly confront and defeat the MSM as a monopoly. Will the MSM eventually lose its monopoly? Yes. We can sit back and blog about the horrible quality of its news product for the next decade or two (and continue to let it manipulate elections during that time) OR we can take active steps right now to defeat it and reduce that ability to manipulate elections and public policy. You can have victory then, or victory now. But blogging alone means victory then. Posted by: stan at December 5, 2006 12:54 PMStan, I'm all ears for the active steps to which you refer. I believe with the rathergate memo the step-up really began when it went from blogs to other media. A lot of this is happening with Cpt. Hussein - the difference is it's after an election when many are tired of heavy news. Not that that's how it should be, however it's true.
