Reprehensible

U.S. Sen. John Kerry is proof positive that marrying into money doesn't make you classy. Donald Sensing has the best response I've seen so far.

Update: This is the video of Kerry's remarks:

More reaction here. And don't miss William M. Arkin's commentary in today's Washington Post.

Here's a response from some troops in Iraq:

Bill it's time to repost the Harold Ford, JR article calling our fine men and women in the Military OIL COPS. If you check his voting record you will find that he's supported ethenol use in 2001, but nothing since and his enviro votes tend toward the green agenda.

Ford, who must give up his seat to run for the Senate, says that within the next 10 years a lot of situations will develop that will have to be resolved by the government. As far as priorities, he says the U.S. must find a way to reduce the country's dependence on foreign oil, and especially Middle East oil.

"It will reduce the likelihood of U.S. soldiers having to serve as oil cops in the Middle East and will increase productivity and wealth in this country if we develop new energy products and new technology to fuel our cars," said Ford. "We could even export those products to China, Indonesia, India and Mexico where there is a great need for these things."

Project Vote Smart on special interest groups: Representative Ford supported the interests of the American Coalition for Ethanol 100 percent in 2001.

"They lowered the gas prices right before the election...," Ford said. "When I get to the U.S Senate, I'll represent you, not Exxon." - Knoxville News-Sentinel/AP, Oct. 31, 2006.

Bill...

The Kerry quote is:

"You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

I can't get home today to update my own blog, so if I may use some of your blogspace to rephrase the quote so the Senator can apply it to his own life:

"You know, marrying wealthy women, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you find the richest, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck as a washed-up candidate for president."

Kerry got the 'marrying rich women' part down, but failed on the making the effort to be smart as demonstrated by his recent 'Freudian slip' remarks that show the depth of his true beliefs.

As a military man who has spent the better part of the last twenty five years serving our nation, I find deep offense at his remarks.

Kerry's first rich wife. Kerry's second rich wife.
