I had to laugh at The Tennessean splashing that across the top of the front page. The paper is so transparent. When you hire people to do piecework, it's likely some unscrupulous individuals will find their way in and do dishonest things to increase the number of pieces for which they will be paid. One other thing: In Tennessee, one doesn't register to vote by party, so I don't know how a canvasser would know one's party affiliation and be able to toss out voter registrations on that basis. I mention that since that question was brought up about the Liberty group, a group I am not defending in any way. Posted by: Donna Locke at October 7, 2006 8:36 PMI think that the registrations at issue were submitted along with other ones collected by the RNC (the "N" stands for "National," by the way) in a voter drive. Which is another reason that it would be so stupid to do this as some sort of strategy to "steal elections." Posted by: Ned Williams at October 8, 2006 5:33 PMPost a comment
