GOP Returns 1Point Donation; Dems Keep Stolen Funds

tnflag.jpgThe Tennessee Republican Caucus has returned the $1,000 campaign donation it received from a PAC affiliated with 1Point Solutions, a company now accused of stealing millions of dollars from the pension and retirement funds it managed. The CEO of 1Point Solutions has given more than $55,000 in the past few years to the Tennessee Democratic Party and the 2002 and 2006 gubernatorial campaigns of Gov. Phil Bredesen. Bredesen's campaign praised Stokes on the campaign website as a "leading Tennessee business owner" who supports Bredesen for re-election. (Details here.)

Bredesen's campaign treasurer Stuart Brunson previously lobbied the administration on behalf of 1Point Solutions.

Neither the Bredesen campaign nor the Tennessee Democratic Party has returned any donations from Stokes or the 1Point PAC, donations that may have been funded by stolen retirement funds.
