Bredesen To Campaign For Former THP Head Who Resigned In Ethics Scandal

tnflag.jpgDo you remember Fred Phillips, the former head of the Tennessee Highway Patrol who resigned in disgrace because of Deputy Gov. Dave Cooley's donations-for-promotions scandal that rocked the Highway Patrol? Well, now he's running for a seat in the state legislature. And Gov. Phil Bredesen is going to campaign for him. Oh, by the way, Cooley, the architect of the pay-to-play Bredesen administration, hasn't been fired yet.

I'd still take Phillips over Matthew Hill any day. It would have been nice if a Republican had ran against Hill in the primary, but many were afraid it would cost too much to run against Hill's Gregory money.
