Bob Rochelle's Big Lies

Former state Sen. Bob Rochelle, the architect of the proposed state income tax who is running to regain his old senate seat so he can try again, has a new campaign ad accusing state Sen. Mae Beavers of various nefarious deeds. Rochelle, pictured talking with Lt. Gov. John Wilder during the income tax debate a few years ago, is of course lying through his teeth in the ad, as the Nashville City Paper points out in a story in the Wednesday edition.

Bob Rochelle says he's no longer for the income tax - but two years ago, as he was preparing to run for his old Senate seat, Bob Rochelle was one of the members of the Tennessee Tax Structure Study Commission who endorsed the creation of a state income tax. That's right - Bob Rochelle endorsed the creation of a state income tax just two short years ago.

Lyin' Bob Rochelle - you can't trust him to tell the truth about Sen. Beavers, and you sure can't trust him when he lies and tells you he's no longer for a state income tax.
