« Definitively Uncertain | Main | The G Stands for Gullible » September 19, 2006"The Best Test of Truth"The Fort Worth Star-Telegram has published an Op-Ed by Robert Cox, president of the Media Bloggers Association, titled "The best test of truth," as part of a series in honor of Constitution Day. The opinion editor at the paper asked a dozen Americans from different walks of life to pick an American document or piece of literature that they would like to see translated and distributed in countries that have a "skewed" vision of America so they can better understand American values. Bob, a blogger, chose a document in support of freedom of speech: Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes' eloquent "marketplace of ideas" dissent in Abrams vs. United States. Cox's piece is excellent. You can - and should - read it here (free registration may be required). The Media Bloggers Assocation blog has links to it on other news websites.
