Of course, Political Phil is running for re-election and he's been forced to change his tune and stop running from the illegal immigration issue now that GOP gubernatorial nominee Jim Bryson has made combating illegal immigration a key issue in his campaign, and media reports show Bryson engaged on an issue that literally involves life and death. For awhile Bredesen kept whining and trying to pass the buck to the feds, but that wouldn't fly. So, now Bredesen wants to appear as if he cares about the issue and is engaged in the hunt for solutions. Reports the Nashville City Paper in today's story about Nashville's new efforts to find and deport criminal illegals: "I'm pleased to see that Davidson County is taking steps to deal with criminal illegal immigrants in a more effective way," Bredesen said in a statement. "At the state level, we will also continue to pursue fair and reasonable solutions to the issues caused by the influx of illegal immigrants into the United States.""Continue"? Bredesen didn't really start working on solutions to the societal ills and dangers posed by the surging wave of illegal immigrants in Tennessee until it became an election-year issue, and three people were dead. Bredesen didn't care about illegal immigration two months ago. Two months from now, after the election, he won't either. Posted in Immigration

It's "Pass The Peso" Bredesen. One of the cover-up problems with his administration, the Mayor's office, and Serpas just came out this morning at the top of the Local News in the Daily Disgrace. Sadly, the front page of the Tennessean is still reserved for the sordid state of affairs with the Shelbyville Walking Horse controversy. It has taken several weeks before Don Aaron mentioned that 74 year-old Mary Sadler was also sexually assaulted by Ivan Moreno prior to him killing her. "Obviously" was his word to describe the assault. So why the three week wait? And that they found a wrinkled up check for $40 written out by Sadler to Moreno's daughter in between their driveways. You may recall that The Tennessean did not want to speculate at the time as to who started the altercation that led to her death. Don't think that salacious tidbit was unintentionally released after they announced Hall, Serpas, et al. were meeting in private to work on a problem they originally insisted didn't exist.
