Unwanted annexation

By Ben Cunningham
The Editorial page of the Jackson Sun is a very consistent and reliable cheerleader for higher taxes and bigger government so its no surprise that they are in favor of Jackson annexing a huge area north of the city. This will dramatically increase the tax burden for thousands of current and future residents of this area. Forced annexation is probably the purest form of taxation without representation. The City of Murfreesboro is also trying to force the annexation of a large area in Rutherford County.

There is a group that has been helping citizens learn about their legal rights to fight unwanted annexation for many years. If you know of a landowner any where in Tennessee that is concerned about unwanted annexation, be sure to tell them about Citizens for Home Rule.
