On Pensacola Bay

Here is a selection of photos that I've taken while on vacation at the Florida Gulf Coast. There is a selection of photos of damage leftover from Hurricane Dennis (2005) and Hurricane Ivan (2004), in the extended portion of this entry. All photos are clickable for larger versions.

It's not the light blue house in the background that's for sale, it's the sand-filled lot in the foreground. It probably costs half a million dollars.

Most of the ground within a block or so of the beach is still covered with a deep covering of white sand a year after Hurricane Dennis. All that white sand piled on yards and still clogging some roads makes it look as if the area was hit by a blizzard. Except for the palm trees.
