70%, Seven O, Setenta for no new taxes in Blount and Campbell Counties

By Ben Cunningham
Some more election talk: Blount County voters defeated a new wheel tax by over 70%. The outcome should have been pretty clear a year ago from all the horn honking.

Campbell County voters defeated a sales tax increase by 72.5% even though the proceeds were earmarked for security at the local schools after a recent shooting. Sounds like Campbell County voters were not willing to be scared into a tax increase. Maybe the voters were saying that the county should act like any family with an emergency and take money away from low priority items and transfer it to a high priority. Making hard decisions about limited resources?? Now there is a conceptt!!
