Wilder Ethics

A controversial West Tennessee "megasite" near land owned by Lt. Gov. John Wilder's family has been designated as ready for marketing to auto manufacturers, reports the Tuesday edition of The Tennessean.

Haywood County announced Friday that a 1,720-acre area has been certified a "megasite" by consultants hired by the Tennessee Valley Authority to find properties that could attract automakers to the South. ... Wilder's family also stands to gain. The family and its cotton business, Longtown Supply, also own 200-plus acres in neighboring Fayette County that could be used to give an assembly plant access to Interstate 40.
Tennessee doesn't need more of John Wilder running the state Senate. The good news is, voters in the 21st District can do something about it, by voting for Bob Krumm in the August 3 Republican primary, and the November 7 general election. Nashville City Paper reports on that race in its Tuesday edition.

David Oatney had a good blog post Monday on Wilder's future.
