The Chattanooga Times Free Press did note the ethical questions surrounding the sudden move of TennCare director J.D. Hickey to run Bredesen's company... Hickey's experience at TennCare might help him win more contracts for Qualifacts, which does business with state agencies outside Tennessee, said Alex Knott, political editor at the Center for Public Integrity, a nonpartisan Washington-based watchdog group. "This sounds like a situation of cronyism," Mr. Knott said. "Given that the governor and this individual have the ability to solicit health and human services contracts and markets, it creates almost a revolving-door situation between state government and the private sector."You can read the whole TFP story here. Oddly, only the newspaper's website carries only a truncated version. Posted in Tennessee Government News

Curious, when I google to find interoperability news for this firm ( a la the nationwide healthcare information network ) I find only state targeted products (Calcis, Texcis). Maybe I scanned too briefly. Posted by: Ed Dodds at July 12, 2006 9:04 AMPost a comment
