Well, two of them - Republican Zach Wamp and Democrat Bart Gordon - refused to vote for a single one of the 19 anti-pork amendment. They were 0-for-19 in voting against pork, a perfectly lousy record of not opposing the wasting of your tax dollars. But two others - Republican Marsha Blackburn and Democrat Jim Cooper - both were perfect against pork, voting for every single one of the anti-pork amendments. Here's how other members of the Tennessee delegation voted: Democrat Lincoln Davis claims to be a fiscal conservative but he voted for just one of the 19 anti-pork amendments. Republican Bill Jenkins and Democratic John Tanner each voted for just four of the 19 anti-pork amendments. Democratic Harold Ford Jr., - running for the Senate in a right-leaning state - voted for 13 of the 19 anti-pork amendments. Check out how your congresscritter voted here. Posted in Porkbusters

Well, your neighbors to the west make your representatives look positively miserly by comparison. Our four "protectors of the people's purse" went a perfect 0-76. When I talked to Rep. Boozman's office I was told that Flake was "cherry-picking" and it wouldn't be fair until there was comprehensive reform (which Boozman supports 100%, of course). Posted by: Matt at July 27, 2006 4:40 PMWamp is no suprise. He is on the appropriations committee. When I lived in his district I wrote him a letter after he voted for a fat dripping spending bill. His repsonse was the most rude, obnoxious and arrogant one I have received to date from any political office. He didn't care that he voted to flush taxpayer funds down the toilet. If it was going to be flushed, it would be in a Tennessee toilet and he had the plunger by way of sitting on the appropriations committee. Never voted for him again. Want to see that most have grease running down to their elbows? Visit their websites. There you read of their Christmas all year approach to government. With such essential spending as a bike path for Mayberry or greenway for Podunk and a moth museum for Bugataway. Maybe some day we will get a Pogo musuem. All that would be in it is a mirror. Zach will eventually lose his seat but only after he lines his pockets, and voters realize how ineffective he is. I believe when he leaves Washington he will be a very wealthy ex-congressman.
