Happy Birthday America

fireworks43.jpgHere are a few shots of the July 4th fireworks visible from our front sidewalk and back patio - our subdivision's, er, collaborative and not-exactly-legal fireworks display. The photos were taken with a Canon Digital Rebel set on 800 ISO, manual exposure, 5.6 aperture and "bulb" shutter speed, hand held. Each exposure was approximately 1 second in duration. A tripod would have been helpful....

That first photo is great. It's very hard to take good fireworks photos. Looks like a giant box of electric purple snakes popped open. Very cool.
