« Post-Mortem | Main | Does Sen. Henry Really "Hate To Spend More Money Than We Have To" ??? » May 7, 2006The TEA's Bottom Line
Both the Senate and House Education Committees closed this week, subject to the "call of the chair." This means that the education focus of the General Assembly will be more on the "floor" sessions of the full legislature. The finance committees of the House and Senate will be "front and center" over the next two to three weeks as the legislature shoots for adjournment around Memorial Day. TEA will be working closely with the finance committees to protect funding for education legislation. Association lobbyists will also be working to maximize teacher salary proposals as the budget is finalized. There you have it: The TEA's bottom line. I have "no doubt" that it's "for the children."
