« Happy New Year! | Main | Quadruple Bogey 2 » January 2, 2006Knowledge is PowerThe Nashville Scene has named the students, teachers and administrators of Nashville's KIPP Academy its Nashvillians of the Year for the just-completed 2005, and deservedly so. Often, public school administrators will defend the teachers and administrators of poorly performing urban schools and say it is because the students are largely poor and from dysfunctional homes, but KIPP is proving that a lie in its chools here and in cities nationwide. The only reason inner-city public schools are bad is because the teachers and administrators and the teachers' union are collectively refusing to run them the right way. Posted in Education
