Politics: The Bredesen administration has announced it will be adding back thousands of people it cut from the TennCare rolls, thus validating what Sharon Cobb documented six months ago - that the administration's TennCare cuts were, from the get-go, a political strategy more than a fiscal management strategy. Remember what Cobb wrote six months ago: Lisa D'Souza from the Tennessee Justice Center ... told me an astounding story about how the Governor planned on blaming the Tennessee Justice Center all along. Then she told me that Bredesen was making the cuts now so he could be magnanimous and reenroll some of the people cut in 2006. She called it "frontloading." But here's the real kicker. I now have internal documents and emails from the governor's office that confirm everything Ms. D'Souza told me.She said it would happen, and had the documents showing it was all pre-planned - and, indeed, she was right.
