Today's Reading List

The War: Charles Krauthammer looks at Brent Scowcroft, "The realist who got it wrong." ...

Politics: In Tennessee politics, Bob Krumm reports and comments on state Rep. Stacey Campfield's continuing to dog the apparent corruption at the state legislature's Black Caucus. Krumm: "it is increasingly apparent that the Legislative Black Caucus is a front whose unstated purpose is to take money from those who want to do business with the state and launder it for legislators' personal use. And I doubt that they're the only organization on Capitol Hill that does it. So, Tom, Trent, and Bonna, why don't you see who else is doing the same thing. I'd start by taking a look at those personal PACs that various legislators have, which they use to channel money between each other." ... Meanwhile, in national politics, the judge in the Tom DeLay case was forced to recuse himself because he is a donor to Democratic politicians and the far-Left wing Moveon.org.

The Media: Terry Heaton says its time for the mainstream media and bloggers "to come to agreement that they are not each other's enemies and that the gap between them is more related to economics and the insistence of legacy media companies to milk the status quo than it is to whether one is after the other's job or calling." ... Heaton has also posted his 51st - ! - in a series of essays on the topic of TV News in a Postmodern World. This one is titled, The Remarkable Opportunities of Unbundled Media.
