« Guest Bloggers Found | Main | Signing In » November 14, 2005The WebBLOG BluesMuch as I like a lot of what The Tennessean has been doing lately - namely, great and unbiased coverage of state government and the legislature - and much as I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the paper's new editor, E.J. Mitchell, at a recent Leadership Nashville event and learning that his view of the paper is to report facts and "inform" people rather than push any specific agenda in its news pages - Rex Hammock is right - this is not a blog. A "blog" that doesn't facilitate conversation and facilitate even a minimal level of interactivity between blogger and reader, usually via a comments feature, but also with links to and from other blogs or by accepting and responding to emails from readers, isn't a blog. It's a web page. E.J., when The Tennessean is ready to get serious about incorporating real blogging into its arsenal, gimme a call - I'd love to help. Just as long as you never, ever, ever again use the word "webBLOG." Posted in Journalism & Media
