When Gov. Bredesen cut radio and teevee spots thanking various incumbent Democratic legislators for helping him pass a TennCare reform plan, he knew - he knew - that his plan was going nowhere and that he was going to propose instead to merely throw 323,000 sick, old and poor people off the program. Haven't heard much from the Democrats lately about the economy and jobs. Do you have anything to say about the latest job numbers and the unemployment rate? Posted by: Ray Roark at April 1, 2005 1:37 PMBoy Bredesen just makes me so mad. Going around trying to get Democratic incumbants elected is just pesky. Why it reminds me of when George Bush did nothing but travel around the country and campaign for imcumbent republicans in midterm elections and promised and promised and promised and promised and promised WE'RE GOING TO GET BIN LADEN! WE'RE GOING TO HUNT HIM DOWN AND LOOK IN EVERY CAVE AND BRING HIM TO JUSTICE WHETHER HE'S DEAD OR ALIVE! Which of course the media faithfully played over and over and over and over. Then after the elections he said "bin who"? At any rate you gotta watch Bredesen all the time so thank God somebody's on the job. If you take your eyes off him for one minute he might cut some poor wretch off Tn Care and its not that cutting them off would keep me awake at night or anything because everybody knows giving government health care is socialism so its better to just let people get sick and die then give them health care. As usual there are exceptions to this rule because we must always be alert to take political advantage of cases such as Terri Shiavo. But what makes me angry and would be an unmitigated disaster is if Bredesen was allowed to cut people off TNCare and not lose political advantage because of it. We republicans are the ones who are supposed to be able to deny health care to the poor in order to enhance the profits of HMOs and yet fool people about such things by diverting their attention with claims that we hate queers, will end abortion and give everybody a gun. That works everytime with the Jesus crowd. Jesus said in Acts 42:36 "Be not dececived, if you sin against God I will arm Myself to the teeth and blow you away." So we can't just move on or allow Bredesen to get away with this. We have to figure out some way to cut TnCare ourselves and fool the people but still allow our Mexican illegal workers to take advantage of it. We'll think of something.
