« Voter Fraud "Happens All The Time" In Wisconsin | Main | Voter Fraud Focused on Battleground States? » September 29, 2004The Role of "Motor Voter" in Enabling Vote FraudBoston Globe columnist Jeff Jacoby had a good column Sept. 16 on the possibility of widespread voter fraud in New York City. Critics of Motor Voter said at the time that it would open the door to massive election fraud. It's looking like they were right. Jacoby:... A recent story that didn't get nearly the attention it deserved was the New York Daily News report that 46,000 registered New York City voters are also registered to vote in Florida. Nearly 1,700 of them have had absentee ballots mailed to their home in the other state, and as many as 1,000 have voted twice in the same election. Can 1,000 fraudulent votes change an election? Well, George W. Bush won Florida in 2000 by just 537 votes. Comments
I remember once renewing my NY driver's license (I lived in NYC) before becoming an American citizen. The clerk was all set to go ahead and register me to vote, *and would have done so had I not said otherwise*. That demonstrated to me the potential mischief possible (and even likely) under current laws. Lots of other interesting links there too. Posted by: The Lonewacko Blog at September 29, 2004 5:06 PMPost a comment
