Bill -

Check out what happens when you put in "miserable failure".

It is a google effect, where google ups the rank of a site when it is the target of a link with the same terms as a search term. The "misserable failure" hits were the result of a bunch of bloggers linking that term to Bush's bio on the white house web site (I understand this is called "google bombing").

Your site being ranked high in the google search for Bush AWOL means that what you have written about that canard has been linked to by many others - does that match what is in your site logs?

Seems

Yes it does. BTW, is Carter still #2 on the miserable failure list?

Carter still comes in below Bush. Michael Moore and Bush keep switch for #1 though.

There's another Googlebomb out there: unelectable. GWB comes up #1.

I propose this counter-bombing: unelectable, since it's the truth. ;)

Read your article about the "colonel" not remembering Bush. If you're not familiar with Maxwell, AFB, it is where the AF War College is and high ranking officers abound. My Dad was a lifer sargent and I spent about 4 years as dependent at Maxwell, early 60's. At Maxwell, you couldn't hardly take a long spit and not hit a colonel. There must have been at least a 100 there I'm guessing, maybe more. Most bases there aren't very many colonelsso they do tend to know everyone. But Maxwell is definetely an exception.
